Classes begin

Classes started today. Extremely painful. Had to wake up at 7:30. Not cool...though the classes seem interesting, they also seem very difficult. The Danish way is somewhat unlike the U.S. style where the majority of the grade in a class is based on the midterm and final or a few major tests. Here, it's pretty consistently difficult small-to medium sized assignments for almost every class, with a hefty share of bigger assignments mixed in. And this is in every class, so I'm foreseeing a few points when I'm going to be pushed pretty hard to get the work done. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that while I was abroad, but alas...

Anyway, it's the first day, it's exciting, and the sun is out for the first time since I've been here. Some of the other guys in my house and I are planning on going down to Nyhavn (hmm...kind of like New Haven? It's a little port area down by the water) after our classes get out this afternoon to explore what is considered one of the coolest and most beautiful parts of the city.

Pictures to come later tonight.

  1. Nyhavn sounds pretty! Hope you're having fun! From my experience, European classes seem super intimidating at first, but end up not being bad at all. Hope that's the case for you.
